Hello TDK,

some of you have sen myself and a couple of others on your fine COD5 servers over the past few months...
Let me tell you what a pleasure it is and has been to play on this great job to the Admins and TDK players

I just wanted to let you know DnD now has a MOD running with custom maps on our COD5 server, and extend an invitation for you all to come and try it out for some different COD5 maps..

This is a hardcore server / no vehicles / and has auto lvl up ( for the MOD server only ) to 65 when first logging in to give you the full experience of the various weapons without having to grind those lvls out waiting for that special fav weapon.
We are still in "L" Plates as far as map rotations etcc so some work is still going on but we have finally resolved an issue with download speed when clients are downloading maps etc..

the MOD Custom maps server address is: 203.14.173.217:28960 DnD Custom Maps Hardcore

I am also trying to get a few of my fellow COD5 players from DnD to give me some times / days in which we could have a TDK vs DnD friendly regular scrim if interested... there is not too many of us around as we are a social / gaming community but I am hoping for at least a 5 v 5 or more up to 9 v 9... whichever server we play for fun so not terribly important would be just nice to have some games every so often with you guys let me know your thoughts and I will pass it on so possibly we can organize something...

I thank you again for reading this and look forward to seeing some of you on our custom Maps COD5 server sometimes

Sounds interesting B3f, new maps are always a good thing.

Being custom maps, does that mean that we need to enable downloads in-game, or is there somewhere else we can d/l them ? Reason for asking is that in-game d/l servers always seem really slow, at least they were on CoD4. Also, when you say "MOD", do you mean a mod like the Vietnam mod, or just server side tweaks (like no run) ?

Hey B3f, thanks for the positives on our server, always good to hear how we are going with things! I will have to check out the mod server sometime,new maps is always good!! and eze i would suggest that its a mod for custom maps so you would have to enable downloads, or d/l the maps elsewhere and add them to your cod folder, but ill let B3f answer that 1 for you! As for the scrim, think its a good idea ,a 5-5, or 9-9 would be ok, we would have the numbers to do either, as for the server we could always play one on each to keep it fair for both, but im sure we would defiantly be interested in sorting out a few friendly scrims with u guys!!

Yes in answer there should be no need to enable D/L and as skitz suggested you can always add the game maps from a online source..

also the mod is Openwarfare but we running this so we can disable things like bunnyhopping ( you can hop but your gun disappears briefly when you do , also same for dolphin diving players ) it also lets us tweak some other things in the server which we find positive and an enhancement to when we play

I will round out some troops Skitz and give you guys details for our TS server so you can drop in and say hi and we can organize some decent suitable times / days for all

I have been downloading maps off the server at around 280 -350 Kbs X second which is not too bad bout a minute or so depending on size of map some have downloaded at 1.3 Mb x second... lucky buggers lol

Sweet. That took about 5 mins on my slow connection. Looks pretty good, probably the most polished mod I've seen. A game within a game, the way it should be .

One thing worth noting though... If you create new weapons classes within the mod, and give them names other than their defaults, it will also change the names of classes in those slots when you launch without the mod. Maybe best to use the same names on each slot modded/unmodded.

Actually, what you'll find when you return to normal servers after using a mod is all your kit slots are renamed to custom 1, custom 2, etc. Also your clan tag seems to reset. Best way to avoid this is to create a new online profile for playing on mod servers.

B3fano, who did the work on your download issue? We had an OW server but had problems with download redirect consistency. I would very much like to talk with whoever worked on that.

Hey Di Zastur...

We have a member in China ( he is English just works from there ) Congo_Toey his game name he runs a software company pretty switched on guy he basically set up the HTTP redirection as I think the FTP was just not working for us he got a domain name for us and set the server redirection for downloads...

He finally got it working for us
Welcome to jump in our TS server sometime and say hi will send the details by PM to yourself and Skitz as soon as I get home from Work

Also with the renaming of your classes thing... yeah used to happen to me as well but for whatever reason it has not done this to me or might be I just did not bother to rename them as that is all it changed the actual class selections etcc were all there and good..
